Isaac is Born
(Genesis 21:1-21)

The Lord visited Sarah as He had promised. In a few months Sarah bore a son.

Abraham obeyed God. He called his sons's name Isaac. Then he circumcised Isaac on the eighth day.

Sarah was very happy that God had blessed her with a child. She laughed and everyone who heard about her baby laughed with her because they were happy.

Isaac grew and could eat regular food. Abraham had a great feast on the same day that Isaac could eat regular food.

Sarah saw that Ishmael scoffed. So she asked Abraham to send Hagar and Ishmael away.

Abraham was not pleased with Sarah's request. But he sent Hagar and Ishmael away because God told him to do as Sarah had asked him.

Hagar was lost in the desert. She thought that Ishmael was going to die and she cried.

God heard Ishmael and sent the angel of God. The angel told Hagar that Ishmael would be a great nation and opened her eyes to see a well of water.

Ishmael grew and became an archer. Later he married a woman from Egypt.

Questions:

1. Did the Lord visit Sarah? Did she have a baby?

2. Did Abraham obey God?

3. What did Abraham name his son?

4. Should we obey God?

5. Did God take care of Hagar and Ishmael?

6. Does God take care of us?
