Jesus
Bible study on Jesus.

Jn. 1:1, 14

Jesus is the Word. He is God.

Matt. 13:55; Mk. 6:3; Jn. 7:3, 5, 10; Acts 1:14; Gal. 1:19

Jesus had brothers. Mary did not remain a virgin after giving birth to Jesus.

Heb. 9:15; 12:24; 1 Jn. 2:1

Jesus is our Mediator and Advocate.

Jn. 10:7; 14:6

We access the Father through Jesus (cf. Heb. 4:14-16).

Jn. 16:26

We pray in the name of Jesus (cf. Col. 3:17).

Col. 1:16

All things were created by, through, and for Jesus, He is our Creator (cf. Gen. 1:26; Heb. 1:3; 11:3).

Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:3

Jesus is the Sustainor of creation.

Jn. 10:30; 14:20; 17:21

Jesus is one with the Father.

Heb. 2:4

God bore witness of Jesus through the miracles that He performed (cf. Jn. 10:37-38; 1 Jn. 5:6-9).

Jn. 20:30-31

We believe in Jesus because of the miracles He performed which are recorded in Scripture.

Jn. 3:16

God sent Jesus into the world because He loves us; whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Rom. 3:25; 1 Jn. 2:2; 4:10

God sent His son to be a propitiation for our sins.

Rom. 5:6-8

Christ died for the ungodly (i.e., sinners).

Rom. 5:12-15

Without Christ, death would still reign in the world.

Heb. 10:1-10

Without Christ's sacrifice, there would be no forgiveness of sins.

Christ gave Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God (Eph. 5:2).

Matt. 28:18

All authority has been given to Jesus.

Heb. 12:1-2

We must look to Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith (cf. Heb. 5:9).

Heb. 5:9

We must obey Jesus to be saved.

Jn. 1:12

We must receive Jesus as the authority of our life to be given the right to become God's children.

To receive Jesus is to receive and obey His word, the gospel (Jn. 12:48; 2 Th. 1:8; cf. Heb. 5:9; 1 Th. 1:22; 2 Jn. 1:9).

We must believe in Jesus (Jn. 8:24) and continue in His word (Jn. 8:31) to be His disciple, to know the truth, and to be set free (Jn. 8:31-33; cf. 2 Jn. 1:9).

People who receive the word of Jesus preached through the apostles repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38) to be saved (Acts 2:40-41).

Jn. 12:48

We must authoritatively receive Jesus' words. We will be judged by His words (cf. 2 Cor. 5:10).

Col. 3:17

We must do all (everything) in the name (by the authority) of Jesus Christ.

We are under law toward Christ (1 Cor. 9:21). We must fulfill the law of Christ (Gal. 6:2).
