Mary, the
Mother of Jesus
Bible
study on Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Matt. 1:18; Lk. 1:35
The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and she conceived. The Holy One
who would be born was to be called the Son of God.
Matt. 1:23-25
Mary was a virgin when she conceived Jesus. She did not know a
man until after she brought forth her firstborn Son.
Lk. 1:48
All generations will call Mary blessed.
Mary was favored by God to bear His Son (Lk. 1:30). All the saints
are favored (i.e., blessed) by God (Lk. 11:27-28).
Matt. 13:55; Mk. 6:3; Jn. 7:3, 5, 10; Acts
1:14; Gal. 1:19
Jesus had brothers. Mary did not remain a virgin after giving birth
to Jesus.
Lk. 11:27-28
The people who hear and keep the word of God are blessed, as Mary
was blessed.
Christians are blessed because their works follow them (Rev. 14:13)
and they have part in the first resurrection. The second death has
no power over them, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with Him a thousand years (Rev. 20:6). They are
blessed that they may have the right to the tree of life and enter
through the gates into the city (Rev. 22:14).
Lk. 8:19-21
Jesus' family (i.e., mother and brothers) is those who hear God's
word and do it.
Eph. 4:11; Phil. 1:1; Tit. 1:5; 1 Tim. 3:1, 8; Heb. 5:12
The church is composed of elders, deacons, evangelists, teachers,

Jesus is God; He is our Mediator and Advocate. We pray to God in
the name of Jesus.
Mary is not God. She is neither our Mediator, our Advocate, nor
the head of the church. We cannot worship or venerate Mary. We cannot
pray to or through Mary (cf. Matt. 28:18).
